City of Remnants v1.1

Yugai Control Units are go!

A small update to the City of Remnants rules summary and reference.

For some reason I’d listed an amount of YGU tokens to be placed in the Yugai Patrol Phase, even though the number placed depends on the number of players in the game. However, that egregious error is now eradicated! Enjoy, the City of Remnants summary: now at v1.1.

  • What do you mean by “depends on the number of players”? Don’t you always draw two cards and place the Yugai tokens indicated on both cards?

  • Rossitto says:

There is no any problem in your expression. You just don’t know the rules. So don’t post any rule book if it is not published by the developer of the game.

Allow me to reply to your messages, Rossitto.

      a) I admitted the mistake I’d made in the summary, and changed it to the same way the rulebook expresses it – i.e., not mentioning the actual number of tokens, but just saying to place tokens as indicated on the cards. When I said in the above comment ‘the amounts are the same’, I referred to the rules, not my summary – admitting that I had made a mistake in the above description by saying the number of tokens placed changed depending on the number of players.

I’ve put a line through that error in my description for you.

You can see by the version numbers of all my summaries that I always quickly respond to errors in my summaries because I want them to be as accurate as possible. I have no interest in defending errors I have inadvertently made.

      b) Plaid Hat Games sent me a copy of this game so I would create this summary, so I have official permission to create it.

And c) Comments from first time posters (even confrontational ones) require my approval. However this can sometimes take a few hours, because I’m in New Zealand, and in this case was asleep when you posted.

Thanks for your input. I’m always willing to hear from people who are interested in making these summaries as useful and accurate as possible.

Thank you for the answer. Thank for the line, that you put through your error too. I am happy now.
I may look angry, beacuse when I first saw “the 10 tokens” in your rulebook I was confused and take a little time to realize that is not an official rule book. Then the 10 tokens disappered and appeared the number of players is equal to number of tokens. Error again. Twice in a row.
And to make a rulebook, when THERE IS an official rulebook, doesn’t make sense to me. At all. But if you are happy to rewrite official rulebooks, do it. Just use more “copy and paste” to make less similar errors.
Thank you once again. But now I can’t use your rulebooks anymore, cause I don’t trust you. And because there are official rulebooks, which are more (obviously) reliable.

Feel free to not use them Rossitto, it doesn’t bother me at all.

Just to be clear, the 200+ rules summaries available on this site are not official rulebooks. They’re fan-made summaries. Lots of people find them very useful. Sorry you got confused.

  • Rossitto says:

Ok, thank you very much again! But why are you stick only to gameboard rule-summaries? Write a novel for example. Read a good one, the make fan-made novel. I am sure “lots of people will find it useful”. Now I am not confused already. I am curious now…

    then*

    • Universal Head says:

I summarise long rulebooks into a short form so boardgamers can refer to a two-page document instead of 24 page booklet (for example). It speeds up the learning and playing of boardgames.

  • Rossitto says:

Ah!!! That’s another story. Now I can understand. So thank you for the answer and keep summarising 😉
