The Joy of Unboxing: Dungeon Command

A low level mage; completely expendable…

A couple of months late (a bit like the box): it’s the unboxing of Dungeon Command by Wizards of the Coast.

Filmed back in December, I’ve finally managed to get this Joy of Unboxing video up on the EOG. Which is kind of appropriate considering how long it took me to get the box in the first place (see the video for the whole tangled story).

Dungeon Command is, sadly, no more, but you can still grab a few of these skirmish sets from online retailers and Ebay.

Are you and Will planning to do a battle report of this? I’ve been looking at this line in my local big book store for a while now, and I’m curious how it plays. Thanks for the unboxing.

    • I’d like to. There’s a lot to line up for Will’s next visit, which sadly won’t be until late April. I’ll have to shanghai another gaming friend into a battle report, if I can find someone willing to go in front of the camera!

An intrigued by the game when it first showed up in the local shops, seemed a good concept. Pity WoC have dumped it.
I like the look of the tiles for a small skirmish game from what I’ve seen too.

Would it be short enough for you to play both sides. You could wear a mask to make it easier to follow the video.

Do you do any short solo play throughs of your new games before challenging Will to a battle ?

    • Nice idea, though givent the whole game is about hidden information (the cards) it would be tricky! No, usually we stumble blindly in together with a new game. More amusing that way.

Short term memory loss ! Yes that would possibly work with dice rolling not cards.
