@ UH: yes, it’s all your fault, that’s what it is… otherwise I could’ve picked myself up two nice armies of the Scorpion and the Ram for a song. Now the Ram is nowhere to be found and the Scorpions are rapidly disappearing. 😉May 3, 2015 at 11:07 pm #9291
🙂 Well, the Ram have been virtually impossible to get for ages (I spent a fortune getting a couple of units of the vampyres). Miniature Market is the pretty much the last non-Ebay place you can get anything else.May 4, 2015 at 1:39 am #9292
Yeah. Pity about the Ram army. The others are more or less obtainable. For a price.
Did you see what some sellers were asking for complete army boxes for AT-43 (ONI, Red Blok) on eBay? Talk about sticker shock! Haven’t really seen anyone getting rid of their Confrontation armies yet.May 4, 2015 at 9:41 am #9293
Some greedy sellers on Ebay quickly enter a fantasy land where they call these things ‘rare collectibles’ and ask prices that no one but an uninformed idiot would pay. But old Rackham figures have a vanishingly small pool of buyers. I wouldn’t recommend that anyone start trying to collect full Confrontation or AT-43 figures armies now, there are just too many missing and unobtainable.
That said, there’s nothing to stop people using proxies (which you have to do for a few figures that were never made).May 4, 2015 at 2:11 pm #9294
Yeah. I’m embarking on a quixotic project right now: converting the Confrontation models to play in WoK. It’s surprisingly do-able, although so far the Dirz troops convert the best. Might play them as a faction from an independent city that’s not under the sway of the 5 Scion Kings.
I’ve done up a troop table for Troop and Leader Ranks. Once you see it in b&w, you notice the gaps in the WoK units. That’s probably for a second KS sometime this (or next) year.
I’m now converting each troop and leader into WoK-style cards. Doing the info and stats and abilities right now.May 4, 2015 at 2:38 pm #9295
That’s the kind of insane project I’d tackle. 🙂 Good one!May 4, 2015 at 3:05 pm #9296
How did you get the art assets to do the Parry/Strike etc. symbols? Need those to make the cards.
Also: talk about rubbing salt in the wound!!!
Unproduced Confrontation Minis:
If you want to update some of your cards, here’s your chance. Especially Athan Zakhil.
And OMG! Scroll down to the 3rd (and last photo). If you can tear your eyes away from the 2 gorgeously painted sculpts… if that isn’t Alyana Heska (as “an un-released Akkyshan”) I’ll eat my shoes!May 4, 2015 at 3:21 pm #9297
I made them. Contact me with your email via the contact page and I’ll send them to you.
Damn I wish they’d kept making figures. That’s a fantastic alternate Mira and I love the redo of Salias Yesod. Great to see Athan Zakhil finally. That must be Zakhil Prime to the right of him (same backpiece).
Bloody hell, you’re absolutely right about Alyana. Nicely spotted. Then again, that’s a CMON cabinet, so it’s probably the earliest glimpse of what would become WoK.May 4, 2015 at 3:29 pm #9298
I now realise (after having seen those photos) the titans are on a totally different level from a WoK Rank 2 Specialist. They certainly deserve their own category!
And Alyana: yeah. It’s very intriguing: “an un-released Akkyshan”. It’s either some work they’d done earlier for Confrontation (since a lot of the designers/sculptors for WoK worked for Rackham) or the same designers/sculptors started work on Alyana for Confrontation before CMON decided to do WoK instead.
We’ll never know, I guess.May 5, 2015 at 3:48 am #9301
I sent you my email contact. Did you get it?
I’ve done about 8 units so far. Another 12 to go. I must be mad! 😛May 5, 2015 at 9:36 am #9303
Are you sure it went through OK? I didn’t get the email. Please try again.May 5, 2015 at 2:57 pm #9314
OK, I re-sent my email. Says “Your message was sent successfully. Thanks.”
