I often listen to audio books while I paint miniatures, and I can highly recommend Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke. I’ve read the book before and enjoyed it, but this audible.com narration by Simon Prebble is just excellent.

    Any other good audiobook recommendations?

I’m a big fan of gaming podcasts when I’m painting/assembling, preferably ones that relate to the game I’m working on 🙂 will have to try audiobooks though

Bashing my way through painting BattleLore 2nd Edition at the moment and this audiobook has kept me sane—it’s a helluva job.

I am about 1/2 way through the book, reading it to my wife. It’s wonderful.

If you’re a fan of Gothic Victoriana, I also recommend the ShowTime series Penny Dreadful.

    Just recently listened to:-

The City and The City – China Mieville
    The Martian – Andy Weir

Really enjoyed both and the narrations are excellent.

    Hi,

Just try the english version of the German audio book “der Schwarm” from Frank Schätzing. In english it called “the swarm. A Novel of the Deep”. Its a Long Story, 10 cd’s.

Yes there is a boardgame, but please dont Read anything about the game, First hear the Audio Book. Because the Story is Great and suspenseful at last. I Hope you enjoy it. It dovetails in our Time today, with natureproblems. The only i say, the nature strike back. Muhahaha.
