I skimmed through the live stream and found out that the estimated play time of the campaign in the core box is around 6 hours. Scenarios run from 30 to 90 minutes.

That seems really short. If I bought a video game that I completed in 6 hours for half the kickstarter price of Smog: Moloch I would be really annoyed.

If the original SMOG rules can’t be found, here’s an alternative:

    In Her Majesty’s Name

Thanks for that link. Will take a look.

Had an idea of how to make good use of the Smog miniatures so I may be backing it after all.

But rather than go into too much detail here (and it is enhancing/modifying a game so not strictly appropriate in this forum) I have posted a topic here…

@The8thPagan – it looks like the original Smog rules can be found here:

    @Briscoe99 – Thanks.

Every link I found was dead.

Just bought ‘In Her Majesty’s Name’ on UH recommendation which is only £8 on eBay.

Excellent – now if only we could find the unit cards. I’ve only managed to find 5 of them scattered across the net. I believe there was a special deck of cards too.

I’m going to check out IHMN too.

I think Smog is going to struggle to hit a million in funding.

Massive Darkness hit a million in day two of the campaign, and that’s chicken feed compared to Zombicide games.

And this only runs for two weeks, compared to the usual month, so feels like they’re not really interested… unless they’re trying to push games out twice as fast, despite the fact they can’t deliver on time as it is.

I hate to say it, but unless they put in a Zombicide crossover, (Zombicide Gaslight?) or some ‘guest boxes’ (or Parente porn as I think of it) I don’t think this will get to a million, as cmon seems to rely on the OCD zombicide buyers to get the mega bucks.

If it doesn’t do well, we won’t see a ‘bug fix’ second game with more miniatures, which is a shame, because this game has some potential.

Think I may drop out of smog. Admittedly, the miniatures are cool, but the gameplay not great and short story campaign.

If I stay, I’ll end up buying addons which will almost double the price and $200 plus postage is a lot for a game with limited replay.

And cmons half hearted KS means very few exclusives, so value for money low. Blood Rage was better deal.

I’ll give it until the final 48 hours for a surge, but I have so many games and more coming.

Fair enough. I’m actually more excited about usng the minis for the original Smog game. I absolutely love the theme; it makes a lovely change from the usual scifi, fantasy and horror tropes. If the CMON game is OK it’ll be a bonus.

Been looking at Blood Rage for comparison with Smog. That started with 46 minatures and finished with around 80, several of which are very large.

Blood Rage cost $75 with one addon (2 if you count art book), so was $105 including the fifth player option.

Smog: Moloch costs almost that for core game and started with 63 miniatures has added 25 so far. Assuming a similar rate of unlocks to Blood Rage there may be another six unlocks.

On a related matter, ‘In Her Majesty’s Name’ arrived today. Only skimmed rules, but looks OK. Ten factions. Ten scenarios. 12 variants to apply. Magic and technology. Basic skirmish stats of Move, Shoot, Melee with Pluck for fear and survival. One hit kills with Pluck to survive.

Won’t know how it plays until I get chance to try it. I’ll use some existing figures to try it out… Wild West, Victorian, Cthulhu, Soldiers.

The Smog KS may cost me quite a bit in the end as I want all the figures now.

Keep us posted on what you think of IHMN!
