@UH: Yup! Us scarred and traumatised survivors need somewhere to band together for PTSD and help ๐Ÿ˜‰

@MarcusWallace: Thanks! Not sure when I’ll open the box though… don’t wanna discover I’m missing parts or have damaged pars because I know I’ll never receive any replacements whatsoever, so right now I suppose I have a Schroedinger’s Boardgame ๐Ÿ˜€

Well… according to the updates (what there are) the printed stuff I received (boards, cards, tokens, dice etc.) were all printed in… whichever country the KS creators came from (Poland???) and was actually done several years ago. The minis were the entire reason why the KS crashed and burned and eventually the creators sold the game to Prodos. The deal was Prodos would manufacture the minis and ship the games and minis out to backers.

Well, Prodos being Prodos… I’m not surprised a lot of backers haven’t received the minis yet. Indeed, only a handful have reported getting them and from all accounts… the minis are smaller than expected and of poor quality. Again, based on reports of backers who have received theirs and not my personal experience since I didn’t get the minis.

Ah. I finally received it! After a wait of 5 years. Without the promised minis.

My copy of the game is so close yet so far… it’s literally the last mile and the forwarder said “we will need to wait for the publisher to give the green light to proceed. Not too sure why they on hold the delivery”. It’s insane.

@Soulsorceror: Yes, the Recon+ rules were written by Ash Barker. The Code One Quick Start PDF I downloaded so far just has variable table sizes as a difference from normal N3 rules. Maybe the forthcoming complete Code One rules will highlight more differences?

@Universal Head: There’s a variant (forgot if it was official or not) where the 2 sides in WOTR were divided among 4 players. Hence 2 vs 2.

I have both Tabletopia and TTS, so either works for me

Latest games have been 2 games of the Twisted Steampunk game and one Star Breach session. Both solo, for obvious reasons.

@Universal Head : you might want to take a look at Star Breach. FREE rules for a minis agnostic game. You might be able to find some use for your AT-43 minis. And you might be able to dredge up a version of the older beta rules rules (2.3) that give you the campaign system.

Just started a game of Nemesis last night via TTS. Unfortunately one of the players dropped out due to internet connectivity issues. Hopefully it’ll be sorted out before this coming Wednesday night when we plan to resume.

The new, “simplified” Code One rules don’t seem to be much different from their old Quick Start Rules with the exception of variable table sizes as opposed to the recommended standard 4×4.

And it’s a pity our esteemed Head had such a negative introduction to Infinity. I agree the advanced rules are a major pain. So many exceptions and breaking of standard rules that it isn’t funny. But the core rules are simple, elegant and lots of fun, especially when playing the Recon+ rules that also give you some scenario objectives to shoot for rather than just killing everyone in sight.

It does help tremendously when you have an experienced player to walk you through your first few games of Infinity, though, like I was privileged to have.

Also: lovely, lovely painted minis. Wish I could reach such standards, but not even on my best days…

Haha. That’s the pro and con of playing solo…

    Pro: You always win!

    Con: You always lose! ๐Ÿ˜€
