ParticipantWell…I should just give a try then. Thank you! π

ParticipantWhat do you think of the “messy” part? Is overspray really a “problem” or could you do it in the dining room with a bit of paper on the table? I do not have a separate space and could only do it in the living room/dining room area.

ParticipantShipping for the EU is quite reasonable, to be honest. But most KS tend to go with “more is better” and I do not have the room for that. Also the KS I backed with lotΒ΄s of stuff made me realize that most of the “more” stuff does not get used…so even at a great price (and the times with crazy amounts of stuff for really low prices is also gone) is still “dead wight” giving me headaches with storage. And time is also a limited resource…so I finally have managed to resist the “shiny syndrome”,
Took some time and effort but I am quite happy with it. Getting something done or on the table from my “old” stuff I have not managed to play is really satisfying πSoulsorcerer
ParticipantI have finally started painting minis in may and I have an airbrush because a friend recommended starting right away with one. But I have my doubts about using it in my living room/kitchen (no other place) due to the fine dust settling everywhere…so I do not use it atm. Hope to get there someday though π

ParticipantThank you for your in-depth opinion on the game. I have a friend that is into the mythos and games with that theme and we both worry about replayability. Combined with the price and the fact we have lots of other games with that theme (and after your thoughts on it) we decided to pass.
So no KS game since 1 1/2 years ago…strangely I am a bit proud of that. π

ParticipantBetter late than never: Hi Tom! Welcome to the dinosaurs niche of the www π

ParticipantThanks for the game Ralf! Especially for your patience with me (and the client problems….probably on my end)!
Took some time to get those 12 rounds in due to him explaining a lot to me…rules and strategy. And sharing some pro tips along the way and explaining differences between my 1. Ed. and the 2. Ed. The client is really nicely done…even with cool sound effects π All in all it was a fun game…with quite some interesting occurrences! Got a bit one-sided due to incredible dice luck on my side and the opposite on his. I am quite sure the “let the noob win” dice manipulation was switched “on” for this π Still the last tile draw could have won him the game with a bit of luck…which was not on his side this evening.
But despite that with a 1v1 compared to the 2v2 I knew before it was a much more enjoyable game. I think for 2 main reasons. First I was much more involved. And second Ralf is a great player. Even those stupidly lucky dice roles just made him laugh. And I realized it afterward how important that positive attitude towards “bad luck” is for a game in general. Sulking and complaining about what did not go as planned and should have worked etc. sucks the fun out of a game so much (which was the case in those one-sided 2v2).
So thank you again Ralf. I am in for another match in the future. π

ParticipantI am really torn about WotR. I played a couple of games inside a few weeks. We played with 2v2. Each side had a seasoned player and a noob (one was me) All of those matches were very one-sided. Either critical cards did not show up…and it looks like there are crazy powerful ones in the game that make a huge difference. Dice roles with sieges or spotting the fellowship went so wrong so many times in a row. Just so many bad card/dice combos that made those games a lost cause for one side. Like getting nearly no recruiting dice etc. And not one of those games…but all of them. I gave up because it seemed like to much luck with dice rolls and card draws involved. Is that due to the game design or did we play wrong/bad…or is that a 2vs2 thing and 1v1 goes better. I have no clue. But what I know is that those games were not fun. I really like the theme and I really want to like the game…so maybe you two (Ralf and Peter) can help. I am up for an online game…if you are up to “enlighten” a disheartened noob π

ParticipantIf I understood CBΒ΄s post right, the Code One rules will be free online in a few weeks. So if the minis do not interest you…I do not see a point in getting that 2 Player set. Beyond would make more sense. But I suppose the minis would go fast on eBay if necessary π
