ModeratorThank you and a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too! I still occasionally check in here, but activities are obviously elsewhere.
Have you considered a Discord Server for the EOG, Peter? It seems that’s currently where are all the cool kids are. It’s useful because it combines written communication with voice channels for online game sessions.

Moderator@Soulsorceror: I spray at my painting desk in my normal office, with a small cardboard box behind the model. I haven’t noticed any overspray or significant “dirt” around the office – except for the usual stuff. 😀
I think as long as you don’t use it occasionally for a few minis, I think you’d be fine. If I’d be doing it all the time, I’d consider a setup with a filter station like this.

ModeratorI currently have a borrowed airbrush from a friend at my hobby table and tried a few things. Priming with it is definitely great, and next up is a bit of a vehicle/warmachine on which I’ll try to do the base colors with the airbrush too.

ModeratorAh, good (sometimes not so good) old times. We played one campaign of RtL with the Spider Queen (me) as the overlord. We had a sweet spot at the end of the Silver stage, where it was very, very evenly matched, and I almost won in an extremely hard fought encounter (fighting over the artifacts needed for the plot). The Gold phase after that went quickly downhill, with the the heroes being vastly more powerful than anything I could field. The final encounter was a joke.
So, no, I’m not gonna be revisiting that game, but I wish you a great campaign! Pull all the stops as the overlord, it’s gonna be a rough ride at the end! 😀

ModeratorWell, with a 100-page rulebook C1 certainly looks like quite a bit more than a “Learn to play” – and has it’s own introductory game in Operation Kaldstrom. 😀
I’ve played it three times now and we’ve touched most of the rules (standard movement and combat of course, hacking, mine-laying, camouflage, etc.), and it is certainly deep enough to keep playing and enjoying this level for quite a while. But I can also sort of see the point in the distance, where I would enjoy even more complexity, i.e dive into the full N4 rules. I’ve pre-ordered it and am looking forward to getting it in September/October.

ModeratorWell, I think they decidedly want C1 to be the entry point for new players and not so much an alternative for the veterans. For them, N4 is coming out right now – so you can’t really say they are ignoring existing players.
I can understand that providing C1 unit stats for all the other factions takes a back seat. Priorities and all.

ModeratorThe community C1 profiles are available in this Google Spreadsheet. Very handy tools that also functions as an army builder. I got this through the Corvus Belli forum here.

ModeratorI played my first proper game of Infinity CodeOne last night, Haqqislam vs Aleph (with the community-made C1 profiles for those factions), 15 points, Domination scenario.
It was a great game, but my opponent was plagued by bad luck in turn 1, wasting lots of his orders in trying to bring down my sniper on the roof. Int he counter attack, my Al Fasid heavy infantry brought down three opponents, heavily skewing the order count in my favor. While the Al Fasid was taken out later, my Zhayedan doctor managed to bring it back up twice, beyond it went down for good. I won the game with 6-2 victory points.

ModeratorI’ve already pre-ordered it, yes. 🙂 I actually also picked up the N3 books cheaply (for €10) for the fluff a little while ago.

ModeratorIt always seems to be hit and miss when I try to link to Google Photos. Do you see the image with all seven Aleph minis?
The link is to my Infinity Google Photo Album is this:

ModeratorAleph units done. I just love this more restrained (in comparison to 40k and others), sleek SciFi aesthetic.

ModeratorThe cocoons were the easiest part: take a piece of styrofoam, cut it roughly into an oval shape, then wrap a bit of string around. Paint grey, wash with black and brown, drybrush with grey and white. You wouldn’t even need the bases if you didn’t want them.
But of course it’s agame for people with some terrain that they can just plug from their shelves and use. 😀
