The fast-paced miniatures combat game.
Games Workshop’s early combat game Gorechosen is one I still get out now and again and enjoy, and this revamp (with a more generic and a little less satisfying Warhammer 40,000 theme is pretty much the same game, though of course we now have space marines, a necron, and a Nurgle marine as the combatants. There’s a surprising amount of variety here with three-choice action cards, a unique ability each, and different melee, ranged, and defence abilities.
But when it comes down to it, it’s all about running into the middle and bashing your opponents’ heads in, and why not! It’s a high quality package and the game is fast and fun, though I’ll probably stick with Gorechosen as the warriors of Khorne going at it in an arena just seems more … appropriate.
