In this situation mediocrity and genius are equally useless!

The EOG downs tools to open a copy of Scythe: Collector’s Edition by Stonemaier Games. Mechs, farmers and gamers unite and throw off your oppressors!

Quite apart from the fantastic production values, the excellent graphic design, the attention to detail, the well-run Kickstarter campaign, the generosity of components, and the truly stunning artwork, what a pleasure it is to finally get a game with a SHORT, SHARP NAME! Yay! Yep, no colons, double-barrelled long-winded labels, or silly linguistic tricks here, just a bold, strong, simple name that’s easy to say. “Want to play Scythe?” “YEAH!”

Jamey Stegmaier of Stonemaier Games has outdone himself, and also showed us what good value in boardgame buying used to mean. Big publishers please take note! While you’re shaving dollars off your costs by using flimsy stock and putting less in the box, this game is overflowing with high quality and dedication to the craft of making boardgames. Well done Jamey!
