The Joy of Unpacking: A Look Around the EOG Studio

I have a strange illusion quite often.

In this addendum to the series of Joy of Unpacking, we take you for a look around the new EOG studio, where everything that was unpacked now has a place.

You could make a case for the generalisation that gamers are an organised, slightly obsessive lot. After all, there’s a lot to keep track of in your average game, components to organise and rules systems to learn. And this tends to appeal to the kind of people who live their life in the same way. Being an organised fellow since I was young, tabletop gaming is a natural fit for my own, slightly compulsive personality.

Though I must point it out it doesn’t necessarily apply to all aspects of my life – I’m quite happy to throw some clothes in the corner of the room or leave the dishes unwashed occasionally!

So if you’re curious how the games at the Esoteric Order of Gamers are organised, here’s a look around the new Universal Head/EOG studio, filmed during my friend Will’s recent visit. This is where all those games we unpacked together a while back ended up. The miniature organisation system alone is something I’ve been working on for about six months…

Hope you find this interesting, fellow gamers. Enjoy!
