I’m two hundred and thirty-four.
Welcome to a brand new segment: Great Old Ones, where I take a look at some golden oldies!
My wonderful and extremely understanding partner Carol suggested a while back that we do a little series of videos in which she interviews me about some gaming stuff, and here’s the first result! This new series, Great Old Ones, might not always be in the interview format, but will see me discussing some of the old classics from my collection. I haven’t quite convinced Carol to appear on camera yet, but at least you can enjoy her dulcet tones in this video!
So let’s head on down into the dungeons of memory, and let me tell you about typewriters, Basic D&D, Empire of the Petal Throne, Liquid Paper, and other strange artifacts from the dawn of time! If you like this video, please let me know and I can do more in this format (pssst, tell me you like it even if you don’t, I want to get Carol more involved). 🙂
I really enjoyed this segment!
UH – I am just a “little bit” younger than you, but watching this really brought back great memories of my youth when I discovered Basic Edition D&D.
I wholeheartedly agree that D&D can be a great positive experience for a person.
It is really interesting that in some ways, D&D is more popular now than ever before.
One of the reasons why I love Stranger Things so much is that in the early ’80’s – I was those kids!! Playing D&D in a friends basement for hours on end with no other worries in the world. Those were the days!
I am so glad that I got back into playing 5th edition 2 times a week at a local game store.
So glad you enjoyed it mate. It’s quite weird seeing D&D hit the mainstream so much these days, but I’m glad a lot more people are discovering RPGs. I’m also really glad I was there right back at the start when it was all new and bizarre and exciting!
