Are you a madman? Keep well out of this place.

Introducing Action Points episode three – from the top of a cliff. Don’t try this at home kids!

Now the demands of work have eased off a bit and I’ve recovered from a vicious bout of flu, I can finally bring you the third episode of Action Points! Let’s talk about Smog: Rise of Moloch, my all-consuming game passion at the moment; my design work on Planet Apocalypse by Petersen Games; the post-apocalyptic car combat of Gaslands; the crazy money-collecting madness of Monolith’s Batman, and the overall disappointment that is Flying Frog’s Shadows of Brimstone.

But most importantly, let’s talk about a special freebie for EPG members! Yes, those members of Steward level or higher will be receiving a couple of special mystery dice in the post as a little thankyou gift from me for supporting the EOG. Roll well, my friends!

    Noice!

Any chance of you doing a report on your SMOG sessions? (Don’t expect a gameplay video, just a written one).

More specifically, am really interested if you’ve ever had the Gentlemen win that first Chapter and prevented the Nemesis from neutralising that poor Damsel! I’ve played that particular scenario 6 times now (on both sides and once even solo) and the Gentlemen have NEVER won! 😛

    • I’ve played quite a few games now and it’s almost always close, though things are pretty tough for the Gentlemen; the Nemesis definitely has the edge I think.

You’ve played the first scenario 6 times?! I’ve only played it once. The Nemesis won once and lost once; though that doesn’t really prove anything since one of those times we were still learning the game and may have made some errors.

I find that first scenarios are usually unbalanced, as they’re often just an introduction to the game mechanics.
